Dr. Sima Samar along with a delegation from Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education visited the University of Technology, Sydney to expand the areas of cooperation they started after their MOU in 2013.

During the one week visit, the delegation was introduced to several faculties and departments of UTS and met the professors with whom they discussed the potential fields of collaboration that resulted in their agreement for conducting research and online training courses.

Also, due to the unavailability of PhD programs in the country, UTS agreed to develop a framework that could be implemented in Afghanistan universities to help Afghans develop knowledge of Afghanistan inside their country and help prevent our fellow compatriots seek educational opportunities only overseas.

During their stay in Australia, the delegation also visited the University of Sydney and the Australian National University. Meetings with Afghan students in Sydney and Melbourne were held at which the current status of education in Afghanistan and how they could contribute to it was discussed.

The Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education is grateful for all the support offered by UTS to make this visit possible and looks very much forward to fruitful and ever-increasing level of cooperation with it.
